Ignition from Logmein
We recently invested a whopping £17 in a great piece of software. It is remarkably simple but amazingly useful. One touch on your iPhone or iPad and you can remotely access your desk top computers anytime, from wherever you are and manage your business as you go. Directly control your computer as if it was in front of you, access your all your files as if they were on your iPad, and view or manage files directly from your iPad/iPhone.
It's as easy as this. Download the app at the iTunes App Store, create a user and password. Then at each computer you want to control, access the LogMeIn website and download the required software, less than five minutes per machine. The app works on both Macs and Windows PC's.
Then when you run Ignition on your iPad, you will see a list of all machines you have enrolled (off line ones will be greyed out). Pick the remote machine you need and within seconds you will see the desk top, right on the iPad. All your programs, files and open windows are displayed exactly as they appear when you are sitting at your desk. Try it - you'll never have an excuse not to work at home again!
