Google spends big

Google have just agreed to buy mobile phone business Motorola Mobility for £7.7 billion in a cash deal - I don't think they actually walk in with suitcases filled to the brim.
The acquisition will be their first entry into the hardware sector and will and will lead to ever greater competition with Apple and Microsoft.
Google developed the Android operating system for Motorola Mobility which runs on a number of consumer products launched by Motorola, including the Droid smartphone and the Zoom tablet.
Google's chief executive Larry Page claimed the reason for the move was to "supercharge the entire Android ecosystem for the benefit of consumers, partners and developers".
