Google just got faster & easier
Google is rolling out a new and more intuitive format for it's sitelinks, features they claim will expand and improve their original sitelinks.
These changes will be rolling out globally over the next few days in all supported languages to anyone using a modern browser, such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox or IE 7 and above.
According to Daniel Rocha at the Google Sitelinks Team, this new feature "is particularly handy for large and complex websites. Sitelinks can also give you a good overview of a website's content, and let webmasters expose areas of the site that visitors may not know about."
The new format is claimed to make your experience on a Google search easier and quicker, predicting what you are searching for and displaying the relevant sections of sites you could visit.
- Links have increased from a maximum of 8 links to 12, revealing more about the websites you are searching for.
- Sitelinks are now full-size links with a URL and one line of snippet text.
- Sitelinks also vary based on your query, where a more comprehensive keyword search will return better results.
- Sitelink ranking is now also combined with regular result ranking to produce higher quality searches.
