Content marketing seems to be the focus of attention at the moment for the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) world. Businesses are concentrating on using their blogs to attract generic traffic to their sites, capturing large numbers of general information seekers.

Whilst this is all good stuff, and is by no means wrong, the downside is that they are neglecting the cornerstone of SEO development on keyword research and implementation. Optimising the top-level pages of your site with keyword phrases will target traffic looking to buy from you rather than those who are just seeking information.
